If you want to wait for VMWare tools to finish install, use the -w option. Make sure you wait for the process to finish before you perform an upgrade or launch a virtual machine from the host machine.

I also tried using VMware workstation 9.0.2.812388 with Oracle Virtual Box 4.1.2 from Oracle Open-Source Project and when I hit the bootup process it says the VM has no hardware support and shuts down. I have an HP Mini Z, which is a micro-atx tower. I tested it with my windows 7 machine and it works fine, so I think it might have something to do with the video card.
I used the VMware player to unlock VMware workstation 9.0.2. I did it as suggested and it worked. The only thing is that when I booted up the Mac OSX, it didn't show the video card as being supported by the Mac OS. I don't know why. So i have no clue what to say about that. I'll try to install the NVIDIA proprietary drivers, but first I want to see if it'll work when I use the nouveau drivers that Mac OSX comes with.
I also had the same problem as with the Unlocker in Mac OSX 10.7 64-bit. I tried setting the GPU and CPU to Intel (They're both, ALC 735) and NVIDIA and it didn't work. As soon as I set the GPU to NVIDIA it worked. Could it be that I have to set the MAC ADDRESSES to Intel or NVIDIA? If I do that then can I do it on the VMWare workstation 9.0.2? I set it to the same MAC that works on the macbook air and it didn't work either.
I'm running the latest VMware workstation 9.0.2 on Mac OSX 10.7.5. I did everything as with the workstation 7.5.5.1710324 build. I pressed the command + f in the guest OS, I changed the memory to 768 and it took me to the console. However, in this console, the command + f is disabled. I tried to change the console settings as per the other OSX above and it shows only the options to restart and the power off button. No command option is enabled to change the console.
